Puzer and Allaway join forces – strengthening Finnish expertise in the central vacuum cleaner market
Stephen Industries Inc Oy, the owner of KP-Tekno Oy which manufactures Puzer central vacuum systems, has acquired the shares of another domestic manufacturer, Allaway Oy, from the German family company, Topair AG. Both brands will continue selling and developing their own product lines following the acquisition.
Kari Kakko has been appointed as the new CEO of Allaway, while also continuing as the CEO of KP-Tekno. Allaway’s current CEO, Pekka Juurinen, will retire as per his agreement.
“This acquisition strengthens Finnish expertise and innovation as we strive for even cleaner indoor air. Central vacuum systems are long-lasting, easy to repair, and have a high domestic content,” says CEO Kari Kakko.
Over the past few decades, Finland has accumulated a vast amount of technological expertise in the design and manufacturing of central vacuum systems. The merger will help both companies improve customer service, and product development, allowing for the creation of new solutions even better tailored to customer needs, as well as spawning completely new growth opportunities. The companies also see opportunities for expansion arising for Ufox, their award-winning humidifier brand.
The strengths of central vacuum systems include powerful suction, excellent cleaning performance, improved and fresher indoor air, quiet operation, and ease of use. The demand for central vacuum systems is particularly strong amidst professional users, including hotels, and the industrial sectors, where cleaning efficiency is crucial. The manufacturers also expect to see an increased interest from households.
Stephen Industries is known for its long-term investments in growth focused companies. Its Chairman, Kustaa Poutiainen, also serves as the Chairman of the Boards of KP-Tekno and Allaway.
Gunther Müller, the owner of Topair and the outgoing Chairman of the Board of Allaway, is pleased with the transaction.
“Allaway has been a cherished part of our family business, and we are happy that it is now in the hands of a Finnish family business that knows the industry well,” says Müller.
